As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of trying out some of Burmatown's signature dishes, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The green tea leaf salad, although not a crowd favorite, had a unique and enjoyable flavor profile that I found to be refreshing. The braised beef short ribs were a standout, with tender meat and a creamy curry sauce that had just the right balance of spices.

One of the highlights for me was the Crispy Angel Wings and BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles, bursting with bold flavors and packed with umami goodness. The fusion of Burmese and Asian cuisines at Burmatown creates a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Came here earlier this year with my team for dinner. It was very lively in the restaurant, love the location. We got seated in the middle in a long table in front of the bar. It was my first time trying Burmese food, my coworkers told me it was healthy and delicious. We tried their green tea leaf salad, they did not like it much, I actually really enjoyed it! For main entree I ordered the chicken curry with squash and coconut rice. It was delicious, GF of course, and the coconut rice honestly was the star of the meal lol I am still craving that coconut rice! I highly recommend coming here if you want good ambiance and delicious Burmese food :)

When I tell you this is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in the world.... I mean that. My latest visit has affirmed this sentiment. I've already reviewed this place but I have to shout it out again. The ambiance is cozy, bustling, and super clean. The servers are all so nice. The food here is INCREDIBLE. I dream of this food when I am away from it. Every time I have gone, there is a bit of a wait but it is always worth it. THE FOOD: 〰 CRISPY ANGEL WINGS (10000/10): If there is one thing you get, it HAS to be this. These literally changed my life and I am not even exaggerating. They are crisped to perfection and have a perfect balance of sweet and savory. An absolute MUST-HAVE. Ugh I'm drooling even reminiscing about these. 〰 Tea Leaf Salad (5/5): Refreshing, unique, and delicious. Having tea leaves in salad may sound intimidating to some but it is perfect. It is a great way to open the meal. They mix it in front of you and it is a total experience! So good. 〰 BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles (5/5): The garlic noodles are another MUST-HAVE in my opinion. I've never had garlic noodles so incredibly flavorful before. They are delicious and I think everyone who has had them can agree. Literally almost everyone around us during our visit had garlic noodles on their table. 〰 Coconut Rice (10/5): This is a side dish, but boy does it pack heat like it's an entree. This is literally so good as a side. It complimented every entree we had. It has a touch of sweetness but also is so comforting. Honorable Mentions: THE SAUCES! I'm a sauce girlie and their hot sauces did not disappoint. We got the Jenny's House Hot Sauce and the Cilantro Habanero Hot Sauce and both were so good. My personal fave of the two was Jenny's Hot Sauce. I lathered everything in that sauce. SO GOOD! TLDR: This place rocks and I would drive hours just to take a bite of their Angel Wings.

Yowza. That braised beef short ribs was PHENOmenal. Extremely tender with a very mild spicy and creamy curry, with just the right balance of coconut and tomato. Impressive flavors and texture! The tea leaf salad was enjoyable as well with crisp veggies and crunchy nuts. Unlike other tea leaf salads, this one was not bitter but had fish sauce, which gave it a nice tang. That lingering fish taste may not suit your specific taste buds, but it did mine.

Lovely, family run spot with delightfully fusion-ey Burmese style dishes. Loved the tea leaf salad - the small was enough for two to share. Next course was the spicy pork bao and the curry chicken bao. Both were delicious but the pork packed more punch. We shared the jalapeño shrimp chow fun noodle dish and there was plenty for two with a little left for a midnight snack. Our waitress, Jennifer was lovely and she recommended an excellent Sonoma white to complement our lunch.

The best Burmese food and one of the top Asian restaurants in Marin. The food is delicious and packed with flavor every time! Highly recommend their Crispy Angel Wings and BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles. But you really can't go wrong ordering anything off the menu because it's all amazing.

Still one of the better dining experiences in Marin at the moment: celebratory, fun, and delicious. Burmatown has expanded into a newer space in the last year which is much larger than their previous tiny jewel box they operated for years. I've always appreciated the food here, but now they finally have a spacious and modern location, it's a pleasure to dine here. (The outdoor dining area and parklet is not as well appointed and less cozy on increasingly cold fall nights.) Definitely order their ribs (we prefer their fried version to the stewed) and I enjoy their seafood dishes. The garlic noodles and green beans are also delicious. Wine, beer and NA beverages.

Unfamiliar with the food scene in Marin, I relied on my friend and Yelp to find a spot for dinner. Burmatown was a halfway point for us since I work in Marin and my friend lives in the area. A bustling environment, slow service, decent food, and great company are how I'd sum up my experience. I'm a Burmese cuisine enthusiast and I was underprepared with how popular Burmatown is. Coming for dinner on a weeknight the restaurant was loud and packed to the brim. There's a good amount of tables, booths, and a bar inside all close to one another. Plus a spread out, quieter, and casual outdoor dining area. Most diners are neighborhood locals and I'd recommend coming here with friends, family, or a date since it's a casual spot. Due to being a favored restaurant--be mindful that service is quite slow. There are lots of staff working but it took time to have our order taken and be served our food. The service was curt but minimal and not attentive; it took roughly an hour to get our dishes. My friend and I have certain allergies and restrictions but were content with the options available. He and I shared: Small Tea Leaf Salad, BBQ Pork Garlic Noodles, Coconut Chicken Curry with Squash, and Jasmine Rice. The tea leaf salad we got without peanuts and is a must--classic dish, unique, and will tickle your tastebuds. The garlic noodles were good to share and had a good bounce. It was light on the garlic and piled high but I wish the meat wasn't tough. The curry was fine but didn't stand out. It wasn't a thick curry but runnier. I appreciated how much tender chicken they provided but the squash was a bit hard. We left with takeout boxes for all items but enjoyed sharing family style. For those unfamiliar with Burmese food this is an all-right introduction. I'd say Burmatown is more so Asian fusion geared towards an American palette. They have appetizers, main dishes, and desserts--it's affordable, portions are big and good to share, service is nice but super slow so be warned! Parking is limited out front or on the street since it's off of Tamalpais Drive. It's a good option for Marin County but I prefer other options in the Bay Area.
